Valtaic Data Bank provides property-market statistics for England and Wales and sterling rates and financing references. Retrieve precomputed data using authenticated GET requests, with explicit dates, units and availability for each measure.
Access is assigned separately for Property Markets and Rates and Financing. Use a key with the relevant Data Bank permissions; valuation access does not automatically include either family.
Two Data Families
| Family | What it provides | Main endpoint |
|---|---|---|
| Property Markets | Sales activity, estimated prices, rents and yields, new-build measures and development-size estimates by local authority. | GET /v1/markets/series |
| Rates and Financing | Bank Rate, SONIA, curve references, indicative swaps, mortgage benchmarks, spreads and financing scenarios. | GET /v1/rates/series |
The ten property-product families are grouped into seven query datasets. Rates and Financing contains 22 datasets. Related measures share a response without losing their individual units, dates or coverage.

API version: v1. This is independent of the Property Valuation API's version. A Data Bank request does not value a property, require a UPRN or call an address-resolution service.
Start Here
- Read Authentication and check which datasets and measures your access includes.
- Follow the Quickstart to discover datasets and request a series.
- Use Market Products or the Rates Overview to choose the right dataset.
- Read Dates and Releases before comparing periods or using forward scenarios.
- Use Responses, Pagination and Errors to implement a reliable client.
What the Data Represents
Some measures are filtered, revisable summaries of recorded activity. Others are estimates, curve-derived references or hypothetical scenarios. These are different types of evidence, identified by the response's basis and observation status.
An estimate is not an individual property valuation. A mortgage benchmark is not an offer. A curve-implied rate or scenario is not a promise about future market conditions. Product pages explain these distinctions without requiring you to understand the underlying estimation system.
Three Important Defaults
- Omit both dates for the latest stored observation of each selected measure, or the latest stored curve/scenario snapshot. Missing values are not silently replaced with older ones.
- Monthly property observations usually describe rolling windows, not activity in a single month. Selecting six endpoints returns six rolling observations.
- Missing data is not zero. Check each series' availability and each observation's status before displaying or calculating with a value.
Property markets and rates update independently. A shared API does not mean they have the same release date or observation lag. Coverage and Quality explains how to interpret unavailable segments, revisions and differences in source recency.
The Refresh and History reference lists every product's frequency, reporting window and recency policy. Request and Response Examples provides complete JSON samples for every dataset.
Interface Boundaries
The API returns JSON. Supply query parameters, not a JSON request body. It does not currently offer arbitrary aggregation, interpolation, user-defined geographic boundaries, individual-address data, historical information-vintage reconstruction, or executable financing quotes.
Use the returned catalogue and coverage information rather than assuming that every area, segment, maturity or historical period exists. Access to the Property Valuation API does not automatically include Data Bank products.
